Help Cyclone Vivtims in Bangladesh

Homeless child. The devastating cyclone snatched away the house and thus the child is lying on an open place.

On 2007-11-15, cyclone SIDR hit on the southern part of Bangladesh. 3,500 people are killed, 2000 are missing and 6,500 are injured up to date 24th November. According to the rescuers, death toll could reach onto 10,000.

Post-cyclone consequences are now on adverse. Daily life is facing enormous difficulties, e.g. plenty of home-less people on the street; in addition, people are suffering the most due to the lack of drinking water. After cyclone, sea water and dead animals are mixed with the sources of water and therefore the water is undrinkable. People are already suffering from different kind of diseases. The catastrophe would increase by time. The JBCF medical team already visited the affected places and observed the practical situation. The team is trying to help the victims but it is not sufficient against the necessity. More help should be provided on urgent basis.

We believe that everyone's combined help and effort could save the victims’ lives. By the help of the raised fund, among the victimized people, the Japan Bangladesh Cultural Foundation (JBCF) medical team will distribute:

1. Food, water. cloth & blanket
2. Treatment & medicine
3. Hospitals and schools will be repaired gradually. Also, study materials will be supplied to the children.
